Beautiful, Small and Cute Tattoo Designs

Before, I used to think tattooed people got dirty skin, I never dared to even look at them. I was too immature then, not understanding how the tattoo can capture the very essence of the bearer in a design for the eyes to behold. The tattoo is a tradition common to many cultures. The pre-Hispanic people of the Philippines sport tattoos all over their bodies. Pacific tribes have designs that distinguish them from their neighboring tribes. I also saw in National Geographic a lost tradition of the Ainus or native Japanese. The Ainu woman have tattooed mustache; the larger the tattoo, the more beautiful they are considered.

Commonly, tattoos are stuff for brazen men, and only a few women would dare to color themselves with inked needles piercing their skins.

But year after year, tattoo for women are gaining popularity – so popular that it’s already common to see models and celebrities, and even teen-agers sporting tattoos.

Artistically speaking, the women choose better designs compared to men. Many have long shunned the fact that tattooing is a painful process, believing that pain is equal to beauty. (Isn’t it that hair-removing wax, botox injections and liposuction procedures are even much more painful?). Some women are so much fond of their tattoos, that during times of depression, the mere sight of their tattoos would give them extra relief. Of course, we cannot avoid the fact that some people are not yet ready to see women sporting tattoos. In fact, some men would still prefer women with unblemished skin. But then, all is just a matter of opinion. If some are unprepared to accept tattooed women, others would see these women as beautiful. But why do people wear tattoos?

Tattoos are not just for self expression. They convey a message which can’t be told in words. Tattoos express one’s undying love to another. They can send your message for the whole world to see. I remember this pop artist who had the autograph of a famous painter tattooed in his arm just to let the whole world know how much he idolizes that painter.

Because of this, take this caution in having a tattoo: Choose your design very carefully. Always remember that the tattoo is a permanent print. It will be etched in your skin forever. It becomes your skin. It becomes you. You would not want anybody else to be in you, right?
